Spinach (Palak) Paniyaram





Paniyaram is  a Tamil dish. Traditionally  made from pulses and rice. Panirayam can be made sweet or spicy. I made from dosa batter and give my twist adding spinach paste. it is very healthy and yummy .  

Preparation time – 10 minutes
Cooking time – 10 to 12 minutes

Serving – 15 to 18 paniyarams 

Ingredients:
Dosa better  – 1 cup
Onion, chopped – 1 small
Green chilly – 2 to 3 
Garlic cloves – 4 to 5 
Spinach paste – 2 to 3 Tablespoons
Salt to taste
Black sesame seeds – 1 Tablespoon
oil – as required

Method:

Heat sufficient water. once it boils, add spinach leaves, boil for 1 minutes. Transfer spinach leaves into cold water. Squeeze spinach leaves and remove excess water from spinach leaves.

Take mixi bowl, add spinach leaves, green chilly, garlic, salt ,blend well, make smooth paste.

Add spinach paste into dosa batter, onion and mix well.

Heat Paniyaram tawa. Apply some oil. Pour a ladleful of batter in each dent, drizzle a few drops of oil along the sides, sprinkle black sesame seeds and cook for 4-5 minutes till the underside is lightly browned. Turn them over using a spoon and drizzle a little more oil and continue to cook until both the sides are evenly cooked. 

Serve hot with tomato catch up.
