Ingredients:
Milk – 1 liter
Brown rice – ¼ cup
Sugar As per your taste
Mix Dry fruits (Almond, cashew nuts, kis mis), Semi crushed – 2 Tablespoons
Cardamom powder – ¼ Teaspoon
Method:
Soak brown rice for 1 hour.
Boil the milk in deep pan, add the sugar, mix well and cook on medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes or till sugar melt, while stirring continuously.
Reduce the flame to slow, add soaked brown rice, mix well and cook for 20 to 25 minutes or till the milk has reduced to half, while stirring and scraping the sides of the pan occasionally.
Add cardamom powder, mix Dry fruits, mix well and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
Switch off the flame and allow to cool completely.
Refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours and serve chilled.
Note: I like to eat kheer chilled. You can serve hot too.
